The Guy Stokes Channel Xmas Bash
The Guy Stokes Channel Xmas Bash was the most enjoyable skate competition I’ve ever attended. Callum and Conna did a great job organising the event, which was held on Australia Day at the curbs on the south end of Edinburgh Gardens, and which seemed like a joke to begin with, but was actually really fun and exciting. There was a great turnout and of course the skating was top-notch, but the structure of the competition was really functional, the Coopers was cold and everyone was really happy. I’m writing a more detailed report for the next issue of Slam magazine, but here are some pictures I took.

The competition began with a traditional acknowledgement of country. The GSC are quite passionate critics of the institution of Australia Day.

Lexi did this incredibly dangerous move to take out the Caveman Award’. He also won the People’s Choice Award.

The hill, or the other hill, because where we were sitting was sort of a hill as well, but I thought of this area as the hill.

I’m ashamed to admit I don’t know who this young chap is, but he sure knows his way around some current fashion and a lipslide
