Fred on the phone
I took these photos of Fred in late 2021/early 2022. We were in Australia to go to my mum’s funeral after she died in a car crash, coincidentally just after Fred had discovered Pokēmon Go. Omicron hit while we were isolating in Sydney, so we ended up having to sneak over the border to South Australia, then after a really emotional and intense period in Adelaide we went to Melbourne for a couple of weeks, which turned into a couple of months while we waited for a hotel isolation spot on the way back into New Zealand.
It was a nightmarish time, I was so stressed about everything. Thinking back, the most normal part of it was wandering around with Fred looking for Pokēmon.
